Why I hopped on the Weight Watchers Healthy Train.

A couple of weeks ago, we had friends over for dinner. I knew it was going to be a bad meal to say the least, but I had been planning for this event.

We had ribs and chicken on the grill. I made Pioneer Woman's mashed potatoes, some steamed broccoli, and mac and cheese. One of our friends brought a great salad. We also had low-fat raspberry, lime, orange, and rainbow (lime/lemon/orange) sherbet for dessert. It definitely blew my calories out of the water.

I made sure to get a run in that day though so it wouldn't be awful on my body.

The next day, I completely and totally craved nothing but junk.

The day after that? Same thing. I was pretty much ready to go off the deep end.

I am a pretty strong willed person, but I definitely have my weak moments.

I had lost twenty pounds, but I was in a rut that was headed for a nosedive.

The Biggest Loser this season is all about the excuses that we make when we are trying to change our lives for the better by losing weight. I knew that I needed to make a change and fast.

So I joined Weight Watchers. It's easy to track. The dues are cheap, but just enough that I am going to stick with it because I'm paying for it as well. It's just another form of accountability in my opinion.

I've been on it a week and a half now. I gained a half pound this past week due to my eating spree. So it wasn't as awful as it could have been, but still.

I wrote this post because I want people to know that losing weight and changing your lifestyle isn't all roses and sunshine and rainbows. It really is hard work. I am now determined more than ever to make no more excuses. I hope that someone who is going through this struggle now or a year or 4 years from now will see this and want to make the change too.

Happy Friday y'all!

WW rocks and the meetings make you accountable :) Great program! Haven't tried it since they started the points plus program though - maybe you can do a review?

Hi y'all! The name's Samantha. You can call me Sam if you like. I am a lover to a boy I met at Falls Creek in the summer of 2005, that is a student of Jesus, a Sooner born and Sooner bred and when I die I'll be Sooner dead, Democrat by party, blonde to the core, and oldies but goodies kind of girl.
