Wednesday is "Hot Topics" Day.

Hot Topics: topics of discussion that usually are associated with controversial opinions; a regular segment on The View

I thought today that I'd talk about a few hot topics that have been on the radar the last few weeks in the celeb world and then a topic that I think should be a hot topic.

Jessica Simpson

By now, there have been several arguments about her blossoming figure. I realize that I'm not a mom and have never been pregnant. For some of you, that might be cause for you to think that my opinion shouldn't count. Well, guess what? This is my blog. So if you don't like it...OH. WELL.

She is reportedly 5'2-3'' depending on what publication you read. I am 5'4''. My opinion is simple on this matter. I think she's gained too much weight. I am not a doctor. I realize that. But her boobs are "bigger than my head" and y'all, even my boobs aren't that big. I get part of it has to do with the pregnancy and every pregnancy is different. But I just can't help but wonder if she's gone a bit overboard with her weight gain. Most doctors don't recommend a tremendous weight gain. It's not healthy for the momma or the baby.

That's all I'm sayin'.

Edited to Add: I feel like I should say that I am HUGE fan of Jessica Simpson's. I have been since her and Britney started their head to head back in the 90s. I also wanted to add that I was 12 when my mom was pregnant with my brother and sister. I remember asking lots of questions. Loren and Will probably don't want to know this, but they were a huge source of birth control for me. So I'm aware of things like water retention, amniotic fluid, mucus plugs, etc.. I also feel like just because I haven't been pregnant doesn't mean that I should not be able to arrive at my own opinions. I've stated that above already, but I really just wanted to nail that down in case anyone wasn't aware.

Bobbi Kristina

Supposedly, Whitney's only child has a drug problem and now has hooked up with Whitney's adopted son. She's 19 years old. I hope that the right people get in her corner and get her the help she needs. Whoever decided that she should have a meeting with Oprah is not it.

Kim Kardashian v. Jon Hamm

Read this article. Lord knows,I love reality television a lot. (Real Housewives of New Jersey/Beverly Hills/Orange County/New York, Teen Mom 1/2, Biggest Loser, Bethenny Ever After, Big Brother, AND the list goes on...and on....and on....and on!)

BUT...Jon Hamm has a point.

I am guilty of watching all of these shows. I most recently have felt conviction about watching Teen Mom. I saw a tweet last week that said there were 25,000 applications for Teen Mom 4. That is ridiculous. I used to think it was a good thing. Now, I am not sure what to think. I just know that I'm not really comfortable with watching it anymore.

Peyton Manning Going to the Broncos

I thought this joke was hilarious.

Water in Restaurants

Can someone explain why they give small cups in  restaurants to people who order water? I don't get it. I pay for a full meal just like the person next to me. Why am I being penalized for trying to make a health conscious choice by wanting to drink water? And don't tell me that it's cheaper either!

What do y'all make of these subjects? What are the hot topics that have you up in arms?

Happy Wednesday!

I personally think Jessica Simpson looks great. She had a "full" figure to begin with (hips & boobs) so those issues are normally only exacerbated during pregnancy with someone of her body shape. Yes, her boobs are HUGE now, but again, they were large to begin with. They do grow even more so when you're pregnant, particularly towards the end. PLUS, I think it's always good to keep in mind that people end up looking smaller in person than they appear on TV or in pictures. I'm sure if someone saw her walking down the street, they'd be "oh, she looked bigger than that on TV/pictures!"

Just something to keep in mind.

Peyton Manning/Tim Tebow pic....awesome! LOL I like TT but PM is definitely the better choice. Even with him coming off an injury.

Happy Wednesday!

OMG! I'm with you on the water. I've had this problem for years. And if you want to order a water with a combo meal it causes great confusion for the clerk. I always say- just give me the soda cup and I'll put water in it- again more confusion!
Jessica Simpson- I've been preggers so I can comment? Andy Cohen just did a bit on her- how long has she been pregnant anyways? Two years now? Is it twins? I feel a bit bad for her- those boobs man! Kelly Ripa talks all the time about how she gained 70lbs pregnant so maybe it's a short girl thing (I'm tall so...)
Tim Tebow joke is hilarious. I really dislike his hype. Be Godly or whatever but you don't need to advertise it. I hope he's not dating Taylor Swift- barf I like her too much ;-)

I think some girls just get super big when they are pregnant. Some people are just prone to weight gain during that time. With that being said, I worked out like a madwoman during my second pregnancy and gained 25% less weight...so...I guess I am just talking out both sides of my mouth. And considering I haven't even seen pics of JS, well, I should probably just shut up now.

I agree with Cassandra - she's always been a bigger girl. Not in terms of height, but she does have big boobs to begin with, and before getting pregnant, she was a little heavier...than when she started out in the limelight, anyway. She does look pretty big to me, but apparently was just on Kimmel, and said she has a lot of amniotic fluid or something. Did you hear that?

I think Jessica Simpson is just retaining a ton of water and you know the camera adds 10 lbs. I'm the same height and I am definitely worried about how I will look when we eventually decide to have kids!

Do you know how much Jessica has gained? I'm just curious. I know there are certainly some things that can't be avoided during pregnancy (i.e. water weight), but I plan to attempt to stick to the 200-300 extra calories a day thing and try to keep my weight loss to the low end of the recommended range. 25 would be great! (-:

It does seem that her attitude is to eat whatever she wants - which isn't healthy, but hopefully she is being more careful that it appears and maybe some of it is water weight.

I'm pretty much over Teen Mom now....it's become a joke to these girls to get pregnant, go on TV and ruin their lives.

And Tim Tebow....hahahaha.
