Just give me a minute.

Wednesday I woke up in a craptastic mood of epic proportions.

I had a creak in my neck and I wanted to pull the covers back over my eyes and act like I didn't have class in 35 45 minutes.

I threw on some leggings and a hoodie. I also threw on a pair of flip-flops because, as of Wednesday, I also decided that I'm protesting winter. (It happens every year. I really come to loathe winter after January 2 and at some point I basically decide I'm going to will Spring to come to town because my level of disgust really is that high.)

I grabbed my bag and my water bottle and as I was headed out the door, I checked the weather.

AND GLORY BE Y'ALL! IT WAS SET TO BE 64 AND SUNNY THAT DAY!!

(Yes, those two sentences really did need to be capitalized because I felt like shouting because I was so happy about this news, I could just about burst. If  you're not sure why, see above about that willing Spring to come to Michigan business I rambled about above.)

EXCEPT.

This homegirl still had to go to class.

And y'all. Sitting through any class in undergrad was pure torture. The problem is that I'm not in undergrad. I'm in grad school aka land of you have to pay attention every class because law school really is that crazy hard.

My bad mood was suddenly back on. Of course, it didn't help matters that it's officially Week 10. And Week 10 around these parts is code for, "It's time to put your big girl panties on and get ready for the long haul because you're not going to have a life for the next month because you'll be spending it at the library."

Yeah.

I strolled into class and people immediately could tell that I was not in the best of moods. I am pretty much a good mood person so when I'm not, it shows, big time.

Thankfully, our professor picked up on the whole ants in all of our pants because the SUN WAS SHINING and the weather was bearable for the first time in weeks and let us out 7 whole minutes early.  I know this doesn't sound like a long time, but trust me, in the law school world, it counts, especially, when all of us have the urge to shout "FREEDOM!" like William Wallace. I packed up my bag and visions of chips and guac and margaritas and massages and a good hot workout and spa treatments danced in my head. (Hey! A girl can dream right?)

I bounced into my car, turned on the radio, opened my sun roof and peeled outta the parking lot faster than the Michiganders could try to cut me off. I went and picked up my best guy (aka my husband) and we headed to lunch. I decided that I was going to take the afternoon off from school. I needed it.

After lunch, I went home and read a magazine, took a glorious nap with the windows open while the SUN SHINED INTO MY ROOM and then went to play cornhole with some of my pals from school and enjoyed an adult beverage...or two.

It was a good afternoon had by all and I felt like myself again after getting some good old fashioned Vitamin D into my system.

I just needed a minute to catch my breath before the finals studying commenced.

That is all.

Happy Friday y'all.
