I just can't get you outta my head....

IMPORTANT NOTE: I originally wrote this post on Saturday night. On Sunday God answered these questions for me. This post should alternatively be titled "God's Timing is Perfect."

Original Post:
When I run, I typically use this time to clear my head or if I am stressed, then I get my aggression out. This is my just being honest.

But lately?

I am constantly running the numbers on my running stats. My head starts to hurt at some point from all the math. (Please keep yo' comments to yourself. I am a law student...if we need to do math we have people who do that for us. They're called accountants.)

I don't want to put a towel over the machine though because it does push me to go harder when I see how fast I'm running or when I'm at a certain calorie level.

I guess what I am asking is do you have any suggestions on how to distract myself, so I'm not so obsessed with the numbers?

In a related topic, but still on the question front, what are you favorite motivational quotes?

I need some new motivational quotes for my workout wall and also for my mirror in my bathroom to think about while I get ready for the day.

So lay them on me.

It can be anything, scripture, movie quote, etc.

What Happened Sunday Morning...

Most of you know that I'm a nerd when it comes to school. I look forward to the end of the semester because I love the pressure and also because I really love devoting long amounts of time to studying.

But sometimes? I lose my motivation. Law school is my work right now and I really try my best, not to curse what I want to bless me. However, it's really hard not to do that sometimes.

So I was in a rut when I wrote this post basically.

We went to church and our pastor is doing a sermon on the seven habits of an effective Christian. He talked about how our service to those around us is an exercise or our daily workout as a follower of Christ. As I stated above, my daily work right now is going to school.

There are so many things that resonated with me about this sermon, but the one that hit home was a quote he gave us.

He said, "Transformed motivation can be defined as one person's 'have to' is another person's 'want to.'"

Being in school is something that I've wanted for a long time and by having a good attitude about school and the work that comes with it, it is a service to my fellow classmates. When I let it become something that I "have to do," it becomes a burden.

Afterward, I told my pastor that the sermon was for me and that it wasn't great timing, but God's timing.

Also? Check out this weather y'all!

I think this was God also taking care of my mind struggling with doing math during my workouts at least for this week. I hit the road yesterday afternoon because it was so dang nice outside.

Plus, I've heard a change in your routine is good for weight loss purposes.

I love when God answers in the "little things" of life. It's a reminder that He is in the details.

Happy Monday y'all!

I read a magazine or my kindle when I'm on the treadmill and that helps me think about something else and only peek at the time/calories when I want to see how I'm doing.

I love it when a sermon speaks directly to me, it sounds like that's just what you needed :) The Lord provides!

Which brings me to my favorite verse - it's on a post it note on my computer screen so I never forget - Matthew 6:25-26. Don't sweat the small stuff!

I am of no help since I can't run and do anything at the same time. I'm lucky I remember to breathe.
