Monday Mumblings...

I mumble on Mondays. It's a thing. You get used to it.

  • I am praying for Kelly, Melanie and Sophie this week as they go on their Compassion mission trip. I have heard there are snakes that could fall into their canoes and I've had nightmares about this happening to me personally--I should clarify that these nightmares haven't occurred recently therefore, they are not related to their trip. The point is that if I ever was at a point of losing "it", I think it would happen if said situation were to occur. So I am praying for this not to be an issue. I also, am praying for their safety there and back, families left behind and their experience of course. But, mostly, I'm praying for the snakes. Y'all can cover the other stuff. Also, when I say Kelly, Melanie and Sophie, I'm talking about Kelly from Kelly's Korner and Big Mama and Boo Mama. I've never met these three women, so I really can't claim first name basis status, but I read their blogs like it's my job and I figure that when I'm interceding on their behalf, they wouldn't mind if I prayed for them by name. Although, I'm sure the Big Boss upstairs knows who they are whether it's by blog name or real name. I JUST PREFER IT THIS WAY.
  • Yesterday, while we were getting ready for church (read: Brandon was in the shower), I popped in "A White Christmas." Brandon grumbled about me already watching this movie. He soon was finished getting ready and was laying on the bed with Pais watching it while I finished fixing my hair. I soon heard him start to do the laugh that means he's really tickled by what he's watching. I piped up and told him, "See, I knew you really liked this movie." He didn't deny it and proceeded to giggle until we left. V-I-C-T-O-R-Y.
  • Grammar Gurus, when you are writing, do you put one or two spaces after the end of your sentence?
  • I am currently in a situation that I am don't really like. It's really not a horrible life or death or bad feelings situation, but I just don't like it. I'm trying to find the bright side of things, but I'm really struggling. You know how it is when you have to do something you don't want to do and your heart isn't into it 100%? Yeah, well I'm there.
  • There were two earthquakes in Oklahoma this weekend. Our family and friends are fine. But, last night we were watching Once Upon A Time and a commercial for the 11 o'clock news came on (btw I hate that shows are on so late in the EST. Pain in the butt!) and it had a blip about the earthquakes in Oklahoma. Brandon looked at me and said, "This may sound crazy, but I would like to know what an earthquake feels like." I wanted to know if he was out of his ever-loving mind because I was just freaked seeing all the tweets about it the other night. He said, "Oh I was definitely texting our family making sure everyone was okay...but I still would like to know." Well let me tell you, I am out on feeling one of those bad boys. THANK YOU VERY MUCH.
  • We had Chipotle yesterday.
  • There are days where I wish my blog was completely anonymous. Today is one of those days, but not for the reason that you think.
  • Rob Kardashian has the Kardashian booty.

Happy Monday!

2 spaces at the end of a sentence.

I always put one. I have always thought two was just goofy. I have never been called out for it either except for people asking if there should be two. I just did a big paper last term with ONE space, and didn't hear anything. So I stick with one. Two is too high maintenance for me. (-:

Oh, yes, the forever debate about spaces between sentences. Basic typography and English tell us to take 2 spaces. But the print media world changed that, as they only put one space (on account of the fact that in column-type, space is everything. You have to save space.)

So, if you have a communications/journalism background, you will often put one. But a vast majority of the world who learned standard English in their schooling puts two.

In other words, as long as you're not putting like, 6 spaces after a sentence, everybody wins!
