It's five degrees hotter than H-E-double hockey sticks outside!

Last Wednesday I headed out to class and noticed immediately that it was hotter than it had been all summer long.  In fact, we hadn't seen the likes of 90 in a week and a half. I'd even go so far to say that the humidity was working hard that day too.

But, secretly I was glad because I love a good hot summer day.

Every time I state this, though, my dad always sends me an ever so eloquent text telling me how it's a hot SOB or "hotter than hell".

Brandon's dad also told us one day, "It's five degrees hotter than hell outside."

And it's true. Oklahoma has set records this summer for super heat.

So on Thursday, when I woke up and found out that my current place of residence was hotter than our hometowns, I couldn't help but tweet about it!

We might actually be about to experience a heat wave!

And then...I went running in it.

I should have gone at 9 when it was a cool 80 degrees like I'd planned.

But seeing as I'm Cherokee and run on what my momma and husband affectionately refer to as "Indian Time", I didn't make outside until 10:15 when it was 87.

It was a hot one, let me tell ya.

And I totally loved it.

It reminded me of all the softball tournaments I played in growing up. I may have even wiped my sweat on the front of the neck of my t-shirt like I used to mom.

It made me think of the summer my team won our first championship. It was my first time in a college town called Norman. I, of course, loved the town. (No surprise there!)

The best part about this trip though was my dad got to come with us. Tournaments were usually on Saturdays and my dad always had to work Saturdays growing up. When I found out that he took the days off to go to the tournament I was thrilled! This tournament was Pre-Loren and Will btw.

So even though I was sweating like a pig and the humidity level was suffocating, I enjoyed my run.

It made me miss Oklahoma a little less even if it was only for the time I ran.

So what's the weather like in your neck of the woods?

Happy Tuesday!
