Legally Blonde...Officially.

Yesterday my little brother and sister started back to school. My mom did too. She is a school teacher and is starting her 25th year of experience.

I will admit I might have been a little smug about the fact that I'm not quite back to school yet.

While the change has been a little hard, I have been enjoying having the days to myself. It is a summer break of sorts.

Yesterday was no different.

I enjoyed a little bit more of Eat. Pray. Love. before I started my day and I made myself a grilled ham and cheese with chips and salsa. Pickles on the side, thank you very much.

I settled into the loveseat with my favorite canine gal pal, Paisley to enjoy some good old fashioned boob tube.

I decided to check my email on my phone while I waited for the commercial to end.

So imagine my surprise to see that I could access my school accounts and schedule a day early.

God's sense of humor is real funny isn't it?

So I decided that since I was suddenly looking directly into my last day of freedom in the face, I'd better live it up while I could.

I'd get to that email when I had time.

The Man wasn't gonna bring me down. YEAH. That sounds really good doesn't it?

I took a long relaxing shower...lights off and everything! I may have only let my mind wander once or twice to scheduling out my days as a law student. But it was only once or twice.

I enjoyed an afternoon of tv watching. I watched Center Stage. It had a blonde who was going after her life long dream of being a ballerina. It was only a slight reminder about my upcoming dream chasing ways. But just a slight one.

I made spaghetti for dinner and cleaned up afterward. I love a clean kitchen and home these days. (Mom and Jessi, pick your jaw up off the floor because it's true.) And besides cleaning was a pleasant little distraction from the Life Dream that Shall Remain Nameless that I was trying not think about at that point.

I didn't read blogs or look at my computer because Wednesday is technically my day off in the blogging world and internets so to speak. I pre-schedule posts on these days so I can enjoy my day. So it wasn't unusual to leave my computer on the floor even if it was a constant reminder of something I needed to check on sooner rather than later.

We went on a little outing to learn our new city just a little more and we definitely passed the school. After all it is only a mile down from our new home. It's common to pass by on a regular basis.

However, it was at this point that I became anxious.

I mean really, I tried.

I made a good effort, but suddenly I was ready to see that email.

I admit it. I'm a nerd. A nerd that loves school and learning with all her heart.

But we were on a mission and I had to get a hold of myself. I thought about splashing my face with cold water, but I had already drank mine. Then I considered slapping my face, but then realized that was NOT a conversation I cared to have with my husband.

So I focused on loving on my favorite canine gal pal Paisley as we took in the sites. After all, this little trip was more for me than it was for Brandon.

I even suggested we take an alternative route home so I could learn just a little more.

Ten minutes later we were home. My husband decided that he wanted to check the mail. That makes two of us buddy, I thought. But I went along with it. Paisley had to tinkle anyway.

After what seemed like an eternity, we made it in the door.

I put in the movie I watched my first night in the dorm room which was more than appropriate and yet completely corny...Legally Blonde.

I made it through the opening credits before I grabbed up my computer.

When I finally looked up, Elle won the court case.

However, when I looked up, it was then that I realized I was different. Transformed, even.

Because I am officially a law student

I suddenly found myself with tons to do. There are planners and school supplies to buy, study schedules to plan, books to read and professors to email.

And that's just the starter's list y'all.

I am legally blonde officially nerdy ways and all.

Happy Thursday!
