Happy Birthday to my little sister in Eastern Standard Time!!!

I'm already up so why not go ahead and post!

Jessi, sweet child of the 80s sister of mine, it's your happy stinkin' birthday!!

Let's talk about your birth year: 1987!
  • Bon Jovi's Livin' On a Prayer and GunsNRoses's Welcome to the Jungle and Sweet Child of Mine were top hits this year. This is clearly significant as we rock out to the first really well, the second is a nod to our high school mascot and the latter I can totally hear dad rocking out to it in the car.
  • Aretha Franklin was the first woman to be inducted into the Rock-N-Roll Hall of Fame this year.
  • President Reagan nominated Solicitor General Robert Bork to the Supreme Court. He was rejected in the Senate. (Teddy Kennedy led this campaign.)
  • Microsoft releases Windows 2.0
  • We were still in the middle of the Cold War.
  • Sammy Bradford, Sooner football alum and Heisman trophy winner was born.
So let's see, it was a stellar year for women, the Kennedys, the Sooners and rock-n-roll. In fact, I'd go so far as to say it was kick ass. (Yes mom, I know I need to watch my language.)

Paisley would too, but she's a party pooper.

See party pooper. This is what the attorneys like to call exhibit "A".

Point is sister, I love you. I'm so glad you're in my life. And in essence, I guess I'm saying I'm glad mom and dad did you know what. Because without that third time in their life to do it, I wouldn't have you sister. (Once when they got married, once when they conceived me, once when they conceived Jess and once when they conceived Loren and Will for those of you who wanted to know where I got the number three.)

And a life without you sis would just plain suck.

I love you and I miss you like crazy.

Now press play and get down with your bad self...fancy pants and all.

Happy Birthday Jessi.

P.S. B says to tell you Happy Birthday and he misses you too!!!

Happy Birthday Jesse!

(And seriously, I just kind of freaked out that we're all children of the 80s, and, hence, born during the Cold War! I love that our parents were all "Commies be damned! Who cares if we're all about to be blown away in a nuclear blast and the resulting wasteland? We're procreating!"

Hi y'all! The name's Samantha. You can call me Sam if you like. I am a lover to a boy I met at Falls Creek in the summer of 2005, that is a student of Jesus, a Sooner born and Sooner bred and when I die I'll be Sooner dead, Democrat by party, blonde to the core, and oldies but goodies kind of girl.
