Endless Summer: Part 5....finally.

Of course, my sister wanted to know why I was suddenly in such a hurry to get back. I told her I’d tell her on the way. We said our goodbyes and I told her the story. It wasn’t much of a story, but I was gushing all the same. She could tell I really liked him and was excited to meet him.

We got back to camp and I had told the girls that I’d meet up with them at the BCM Hut that night. When I got there, they were eating and Brandon was playing on his guitar. He was showing another girl how to play a certain chord. I immediately started talking to the girls. Turns out the girl who was playing the guitar with Brandon was Alison’s sister. We all had a good evening, but Brandon never made a move.

I’ll be honest and say that I didn’t know what to make of it. But I didn’t really have that much time to think about because it was time for curfew. PLUS, I really didn’t want to go back on my word. I told everyone I’d see them tomorrow and headed out the door. I will say that I was really hoping he’d follow me out the door, but he didn’t.

I don’t remember sleeping at all that night. I remember thinking about everything. Analyzing. Telling myself not to analyze.

This Monday was extremely busy. The place was packed. I got my sister all settled into her dorm. I barely had time to breathe. Finally, it was time for my shower before evening service. I got ready, grabbed my phone, and headed toward the amphitheatre. Halfway through church, I decided that I would leave a little early for my next post after service that night. I took my time getting around the curve because my latest golf-cart liked to back-fire. When I got to the top of the hill before I turned, my phone went off. It was Alex asking if I’d stop by the hut.

I told her I would. When I got there everyone including Brandon was outside. I immediately got nervous.

He walked up and I said, "So..." (very awkwardly!!)

"So I was wondering if I could take you on an icee date."

Now, icee dates are totally legit at camp because really where else are you gonna go?

I told him that I'd love to.

We again had a great night of talking to each other and I gave him my number.

I was on cloud nine by the time I got home that night. I was just so excited. The camp has a "leave room for Jesus" policy so he didn't try to hold my hand or kiss me. We were the ones enforcing the rules after all. But I really didn't care. The chemistry was totally there and I think I knew then he was the one.

The rest of the week we spent talking and when Friday rolled around I was super bummed. He was again going out of town, but he asked me to stop by the Hut on the way to church. When I got there, he had the sweetest note for me. I melted completely.

That Sunday, we had our first kiss.. He asked me before he did. I thought it was nice. I also gave my testimony because I was afraid that he wouldn't want me. Guys had told me that they didn't want to date me once they heard my testimony. But it didn't scare him. Not even a bit. I knew then he was the one for me.

Later at the end of the following week, we told each other "I love you." When my mom came to visit, I introduced her to Brandon and we chatted for a bit. When we drove away, I told her that he was the guy I was going to marry.

They were shocked of course because I'd never said that about anyone, so they knew I was serious.

Six months later we were engaged.

Two years later, we married.

I love him.

He loves me.

The End.

I hope you girls enjoyed the story. there are lots more details, but some things I'd like to keep a mystery. If you wanna know, ask.

Happy Tuesday!
