Endless Summer: Part 2

Ladies, this post is written by the tall guy himself! Enjoy!

*************************************

Let me start off here with telling you I'm not doing this of my own free will.
Sam said, she would hold my Xbox for ransom if I didn't do this.

It worked.

Here I am.

I'm writing about the first time I saw a pretty lady.

Let me back step a bit here. I didn't know for sure what to expect the summer of 2005. I knew what I would be doing for the BCM Road Crew but past that, I had no idea. I didn't know a lot about the people I would be with on the Road Crew much less what the camp staff would be like.

The few weeks before the ship off to camp I focused completely on God. I told God that this is not about me or finding a girl friend. See, four months before going to camp, a girl crushed my heart. I was serious and she was not. She told me many of times before, "I was better off with out her".

Wow, who says that!

Turns out she was right.

Why you ask?

Well I would never have left my home town. I sure wouldn't be moving states a way like I soon will. Would I have graduated from a four year college? Would I have wanted more out of life than what my home town had to offer?

NOT SURE!

Probably not!

So, back to shipping off to summer camp……..
The day of ship off, I was taken to a city to meet up with the rest of our group. This whole thing was nerve wracking for me. I'm not a good first person communicator. It takes me a few times after meeting a person to open up. This has changed a bit since then. :)

I had 4 girls, two guys, and two group leaders to, "get to know", for the rest of my summer. These people were wonderful. Sure we had our head butting adventures, but all in all everything worked out for the best.

The first week, as you know from Sam's story, we worked on the BCM Road Crew Hangout.

The night we finished painting the chapel I was introduced to a blond hair, blue eyed, pretty lady. She knew Matt, one of the Road Crew boys. I didn't make a big deal out of what I had seen, due to what I told God. Although, I didn't forget her face after she left.

Through out the first week I sure kept seeing the blue eyed, blonde girl around campus. She would stop and chat with Matt, Alex, and Allison. Sure, I snuck in my words with her too. I wasn't looking for a "girl friend" but I sure wasn't going to miss a chance to flirt a bit with her either.

The next week, we were headed to a leadership camp for high school students. I know looking back that I had my mind focus on what God wanted, but I remember thinking about that blue eyed, blond haired lady. I didn't let it consume me, but there was just something about that pretty lady named Samantha.

Hi y'all! The name's Samantha. You can call me Sam if you like. I am a lover to a boy I met at Falls Creek in the summer of 2005, that is a student of Jesus, a Sooner born and Sooner bred and when I die I'll be Sooner dead, Democrat by party, blonde to the core, and oldies but goodies kind of girl.
