Wednesday is "Thanksgiving" Day

There's No Place like Home for the Holidays
Oh, there’s no place like
home for the holidays,
‘Cause no matter how far away you roam
When you pine for the sunshine
Of a friendly face
For the holidays, you can’t beat
Home, sweet home

I met a man who lives in Tennessee
And he was headin’ for Pennsylvania
And some home made pumpkin pie
From Pennsylvania folks a travelin’ down
To Dixie’s sunny shore
From Atlantic to Pacific, gee
The traffic is terrific

Oh there's no place like home
For the holidays, ‘cause no matter
How far away you roam
If you want
To be happy in a million ways
For the holidays, you can’t beat
Home, sweet home

Thanksgiving: a day set apart for giving thanks to God; a really good meal day especially in the South; one of my favorite holidays

Here are a couple of things that I will be giving thanks for tomorrow.

  • My family: I am thankful for my little family of two. We have learned a lot more this year about each other and I am thankful that I am more in love my husband than I was on our wedding day. I am also thankful for our extended families. They love us a great deal and do an excellent job of showing us. I am also exceedingly thankful that we have a good relationship with our families to the point that we can count on them to be there for us no matter what happens.
  • My childhood: I am thankful for all the good experiences that my parents made sure I had before going out into the world on my own. They have truly made a difference.
  • OUr education: I am very proud to be a Sooner alumna, but I am also proud that within my parents, husband and siblings we're working on getting the 5th degree this next year(my husband's to be exact!) My sister will make 6 within two years. Have I mentioned that my husband is also set to be a 1st generation college graduate too? Well he is! Education has opened doors that should not have been opened and I am very grateful for it.
  • My friends: This year more than last I am ever so grateful for ALL of my friends. New and old. I miss having all of you just down the street who are the older ones and the newer ones well, I'm seeing road trips in my future.
  • My relationship with God: Last but certainly not least, I am so thankful for my redeeming Savior and his faithfulness to take care of my little world. He is consistent in reminding me that He loves me and that He does not forget about me. EVER.
I hope this post finds you well, that you have safe travels and a very Happy Thanksgiving.

Loves and BOOMER SOONER!

Hi y'all! The name's Samantha. You can call me Sam if you like. I am a lover to a boy I met at Falls Creek in the summer of 2005, that is a student of Jesus, a Sooner born and Sooner bred and when I die I'll be Sooner dead, Democrat by party, blonde to the core, and oldies but goodies kind of girl.
