Wednesday is "Known" Day

Known:to be known is to be popular (good or bad) for one reason or another.
(Thank you Urban Dictionary yet again. I like that we're pals who meet up once a week for a talk per say.)

We all have our tendencies, things we're known for if you will.

I am known on a Wednesday to sit down and peruse all of my former educational Wednesday posts to see what I've talked about and what I haven't talked know so I don't post a re-post if by name only. I am a little anal in that sense. I also then hit up my trusty dictionary site for what their enlightening words will have to say will define the post. I then figure out what I want to blog about and surprisingly the definition can sway my post to go one way and then some weeks it can completely change my idea entirely.

Well this week is no different.

I originally set down to discuss the fact that I'm known for this time of year to have already watched ALL of my Christmas movies at least once. However because I chose to wait to listen to Christmas music until *ahem* November, I seem to be behind on a few things that I'm known for during the holiday season. My little sister, Jess, jump started me back on the straight and narrow after she tweeted about watching my favorite Christmas movie, "A White Christmas" yesterday. My brother and sister stayed the night last night due to the holiday from school and work for Veteran's Day and they are tweeters too. So my youngest sister was ready to watch the movie as soon as she hit the door. We're watching it now as I write this post. So I planned to talk about how the watching of this movie has put me back on track to be known for being my usual self.

But when I looked at the definition of known, I thought about what I am known for as a blogger.

This isn't a pity party of sorts. I promise.

Honestly, I really am curious.

What is my blog known for?

Oh sure there are girls who have blogs where they are known for being a mommy.

There are mommy blogs that have miracle kids.

There are mommy blogs that have multiple kids.

There are other blogs who are known for wanting to be a mommy.

Then there are blogs who while they may not have kids, they know what they want to do with their life and further more in many cases have their dream job already.

There are blogs about girls who are recent brides.

There are blogs about girls with crazy in-laws.

There are girls who blog about their most recent purchase.

There are blogs about girls who are moving from one phase of their life into the next whether it's buying a home, gearing up for a new job, or getting a job.

There are blogs about girls who give away lots of cool stuff! (That I NEVER win btw.)

And I'm not making fun of them. Really, I'm not. In my eyes, when I talk about your latest goings-on with my husband, if he can't remember who you are in my blog world, I tell him what you're known for. And then he remembers and we go on about our business.

You all have made your mark in my world.

I'm not really known for any of those things, I don't think.

I don't have my dream job.
We're not starting a family any time no miracle babies any time soon.
We're definitely not in the market for a new house.
I can't tell you the latest "must have" purchase that allows me to keep up with the Jones's this week.
I'm not a recent bride.
I'm not from anywhere cool in the country.

I don't even have any famous or known for blog postings.

Yes, I have a regular weekly posting in Educational Wednesday but it is nothing of the caliber of Weight Watchers Wednesdays or Wordless Wednesdays or Not Me! Mondays or Show Us Your Life Fridays.

I am just another regular blogger who isn't really famous or known for anything in particular.

It's cool.

I'm not sad or upset by it.

I know that some day one of the so-called criteria of the blogging world will happen for me and I'll move up in the blogger echelon.

You know, I'll be a mom, or I'll start school up again or we'll make a big move across country.

But that day isn't today and it's not going to be in the next week or even month either.

To be quite honest, I'm not sure if I'll ever be known in the blogging world for anything other than the girl with the weird blog name who has a tendency to talk like she has over a thousand followers when she's talking to probably 5-10 people a day.

But then again, that's just about every body in the blogging world.

At some point, we all have to get our start no matter how original or un-original it might be.

So for now, I'm not really known for much of anything.

And maybe, I'll never really be known for anything specific.

But that isn't going to stop me from blogging or being part of the blogging world.

After all, I am a newlywed that loves Jesus, football, politics, and rock-n-roll. That being said, I am a Southern Baptist by denomination, a Sooner born and Sooner bred and when I die I'll be Sooner dead, Democrat by party and oldies but goodies kind of girl.

And I'll just bet you somewhere that there is a girl who isn't known for being all of those things yet.

Or maybe there is and you just met her.

Happy Wednesday.

OMG! You have no idea how often I think this! I've got no classification! I'm not exactly a mommy/mommy-to-be blogger; I'm not just a teacher blogger; I'm no longer a bride or newlywed blogger; I'm not really a military wife blogger (seeing as I rarely mention it.)

I have blog identity crisis. for real.
