In EVERYTHING give thanks!

I got a cool little gift from a sorority sister in the mail today.

On the gift, it said, "In Everything Give Thanks".

When I sit down to blog on High/Low Tuesday's, I think of the good and the bad of the week. I try end on a happy note every time because I know that in the bigger picture of life, my story is set to end well.

(Here comes the "but" part of the blog post.)

But....some days it is really hard to not get stuck on the bad of the day/week.

I know I shouldn't, but I do it anyway.

Today was a little bit of a rough day. We all have them, and just when I thought I was just like everyone else, God met me EXACTLY where I was.

There is a ton on my plate and at times it can get overwhelming.

And in case you didn't catch it the first time, God met me EXACTLY where I was. He always does because he is faithful and well maybe he knows of my tendencies to be stubborn...

You see that little gift I got in the mail, reminded me that while I may not know how things ever turn out in any of these situations, it is going to be for the glory of His kingdom. I can be thankful for the present situation and thankful for the one that is to come.

Because it will be God's will for my life.

That being said, I have realized that while I have committed tons of time telling you about my good week, I've forgotten to tell you about being thankful for all of it.

But God didn't.

I am glad He got me in check before next week. After all, Thanksgiving is probably more of a favorite than Christmas sometimes. (GASP!)

And by the way, I am thankful for you, blogging world.

"Be joyful always; pray continually; give thanks in all circumstances, for this is God's will for you in Christ Jesus." 1 Thessalonians 5:15-17

P.S. As they say in the movie, The Wizard of Oz, "Pay no attention to the man behind the curtain." Or in your case, pay no attention to the grouch who wrote that hussy of a post yesterday. You see, she wasn't ready to be thankful just yet. But I promise you, she's all better now.

Oh good Lord, I just wrote in third person. This post should have ended after the verses.

Oh well.

So true. As usual, you were dead on. And I needed this post today. God definitely met me where I'm at with it.
