Okay I take it back. I like the rain for today.

Remember this post from a few days ago? I do. I was NOT happy about the rain.

Well, I've changed my mind.

My husband would tell you this is a normal thing. He acts like he lives with me on a regular basis or something.

I changed my mind because today was a typical Monday.

It was really nice to know that this evening was going to be spent relaxing in this wonderful weather.

It's the kind of weather meant to be reading a a great book (Sen. Kennedy's memoirs).

It's the kind of weather to be watching a wonderful movie, Twilight.

And all in all, I really have nothing major to do but re-paint my toenails and get into my comfortable sweats and listen to the rain. It's just that kind of weather.

What's the difference?

I'm open to the rain. Tonight's rain will wash off the bad and I'll start anew in the morning.

As a Christian, I am called to have my heart open to hear God. So many times because it's not what I want to hear at that time, I'm not willing to hear him...even though I can and should. I wasn't open to the rain because it wasn't convenient to my plan for the week.

But you know what? When I'm open to Him and my heart is right with the Lord, Mondays and all the bad things from the day don't seem so bad after all. Because I know his blood has already washed all the bad away on a hill far away.

And I don't have to wait for a rain storm to come along to do that.

He is there to wash away my sin, hurt, doubt or frustration every time.

Just like the song says...

What can wash away my sin?
Nothing but the blood of Jesus.
What can make me whole again?
Nothing but the blood of Jesus.
Oh precious is the flow,
That makes me white as snow,
No other fount I know.

Nothing but the blood of Jesus.

And that's a rainstorm I'll take any day.
