Wednesday is "Introductions" Day

I think it is time to get a little reacquainted....

  • to acquaint (two or more persons) with each other personally: Will you introduce us?
  • to present (a person, product, etc.) to a particular group of individuals or to the general public for or as if for the first time by a formal act, announcement, series of recommendations or events, etc.: to introduce a debutante to society.
I am not sure that I have ever formally introduced myself on here, but I am the Ruby Turtle Hippie. Most people know me as Samantha. I have been blogging for a little over a year now and enjoy the blogging world. Like most people it is another community for me to share my life. In some form, I think that the blogging world is a friendship. Every day we all come to read our favorite blogs and to catch up on each other's lives. For example, if you're a regular reader you know that today is "Educational Wednesday" here at the RTH Times. Today the lesson is one on little ol' me.

As I stated before my name is Samantha. I am not totally anonymous, because you know my first name. However that's all you get. I have been married almost a year and a half to a wonderful guy named Brandon. I typically refer to him as the Bear or the hubby. We have no kids and don't want them any time soon. We both come from big families so I figure when we start it will be the point of no return until they're out the door.We are enjoying being newlyweds and would like to travel the world before we start our own family. I just graduated from THE University of Oklahoma also a year and half ago with a B.A. in BS. I am currently waiting to hear on my final application for law school entrance this fall. I want to be in public service and have an extreme passion for how our government works and like to think of myself as very patriotic. If you are not registered to vote, call me and I'll give you my version of the "Aunt Sam" speech. We live in Oklahoma and moved back
to my hometown after I graduated because my husband transferred schools and I was offered a job in another local town. Most of my friends from high school/college were completely shocked by this move. Some days I still can't believe I came back.

As it says in the "About Me" section, I love Jesus, football, politics and rock-n-roll. That being said, I am a Southern Baptist by denomination, a Sooner born and Sooner bred and when I die I'll be Sooner dead, Democrat by party and oldies but goodies kind of girl. As you can imagine, I have lots and lots of opinions. My family likes to say that if I am not arguing about something then I don't feel well. And it's pretty much true. My favorite's always have something to do with film, literature or music. My all-time favorite movie is "The Wizard of Oz", book is "Little Women" and there is never a day when the Beach Boys don't sound good on the radio to me. But that is only the beginning to who I am.

My favorites also include, but are not limited to: the Kennedy family, being from the South, getting my nails and hair done, Bon Jovi, peonies, lillies, poppies, mums, PLBD, sunshine, tanning, a good dress, flat irons, daydreaming about the future, Journey, the 4th of July, Vera Bradley, UN-sweet tea, Texadelphia, iPod, Legally Blonde, a good Mai-Tai, CHRISTMAS, Camaros, Corvettes, Monte Carlos, Real Housewives of New Jersey/New York, Grey's Anatomy, Brothers and Sisters, Private Practice, Gossip Girl, Gilmore Girls, Full House, The View, AC/DC, sunglasses, diamonds, pearls, the Bobb section, Sara Bareilles, Miley Cyrus, Jessica Simpson, the Yankees, softball world series, classic cars, history, Lilly Pulitzer, Italy, Grillz, and so much more.

I hope you enjoyed this little intro and Happy Wednesday!!
