Tales and tidbits o' the weekend...

I didn't do anything huge this weekend, but it was a good weekend nonetheless.

As I mentioned on Friday, my husband and younger sister were out of town and when I got home, I found out that my brother and dad were going to the races. My dad must have thought that when we were younger and we told him we didn't like the races didn't apply now. You know that whole, "I didn't like broccoli but now I do" type deal...yeah not so much in this case.

After they left it was my mom, littlest sister and I left for dinner. We went to Chili's and as usual, the food was okay and the service was horrible. The girl sat at her buddy's table 4 times and another waitress brought our food to us. I think she may have been under the slight impression that crappy service was acceptable. She brought out our tickets and she had this rad pen...and that's all I'm going to say about that.

Saturday morning, my dad and mom both had work, so it was the twins and I on our own for Will's game...that turned out to be a double header. They won both. Will pitched in the first game. He had a double in the second. He stole bases in both games which make me very nervous every time. After the game, we made a run for the border to Taco Bell and rocked out to Bon Jovi, Journey and AC/DC. We came home and watched Twilight. I took a nap after Edward kissed Bella for the first time. And we went out for El Zarape later that night. Brandon came home and I was glad to have him in the bed with me instead of my little sister Loren. She has sleeping habits of her own that some day some boy will have to deal with...bless his poor heart.

We woke up on Sunday and went to Sunday School and church. It was a great service and good time in Sunday school. We had lunch with my uncle and cousin and then went to see my grannie for a bit. Her alzheimers has now progressed to the point that she no longer knows who my dad or aunt are. She has lost the final key to who she is. We are all dealing with it in our own ways, but my dad seems to be taking it quite hard. If you could pray for him, that would be great. On Sunday night we voted 100% to bring a new music minister to our church as our previous one retired in January after almost 20 years of service to our church. It was the first time for me to see someone voted in by that margin and it was really cool.

We came home and watched the MTV awards. I know it is a tweeny bopper thing, but Rob Pattinson was on and they also had trailers for Harry Potter 6 and New Moon. I was not about to miss out. I am so pumped for the werewolve scenes in New Moon and as usual Harry Potter looks amazing. It is going to a level of darkness that has not been seen before now. But it has to get worse before it can get better.

I hope you had a great weekend and a good start to the week as well.
