These are a few of my favorite things: bedtime rituals

Every night when we go to bed the race is on. It's actually kind of silly because it is a race to see who can get into bed before the other. And here is why. There seem to be some unspoken rules that have been made up in the course of the year as to who has to turn off lights, find the remotes, get the computer, get a drink of water, etc.

I happen to be a little notorious for getting in bed and then getting out to go to the restroom, change, pjs, whatever and then rolling over to ask Brandon if he'll turn off the bedroom light.

Now before I get ahead of myself, you should probably know the rule...s.

The last person to get into bed has to do the little houskeeping matters such as but not limited to the following: turn off the remaining lights, grab the remotes if we don't have them as well as the computer if we want it, change whatever dvd we're watching, fix a drink of water, etc.

So I am what some like to call a rule breaker...and by some I mean Brandon.

For example, last night we were in our bedroom. I was adjusting our sheets and Brandon was getting settled into his pjs. I asked him if he would get me a glass of water and he told me that I was not in bed yet and I could get it myself.

I hopped into bed and invoked the last one in bed rule.

Now it certainly wasn't fair, but I did what I had to get the job done...or so I thought. Brandon still wouldn't get me the glass of water so I proceeded to shamelessly beg him to retrieve me one.

After five minutes of me begging, "PLEEEEEEEEEEEEEAASE!" over and over again. He relented. As soon as he brought the drink back, I immediately took one sip and then hopped out of bed and finished my bed routine.

I mean hello I can't go to bed without brushing my teeth, going to the restroom, getting into my favorite pj pants.

Brandon just rolled his eyes and snuggled up next to me when I got into bed.

Rule breaker...probably, but it sure is fun to agitate my hubby.

You are too funny, missy. That reminds me of how my sister would physically get up and move to the other side of the room when someone asked her to get something, so she could claim, "You're closer to it."
