Mr. Bear sleeps over

Last night for the first time in the time that we have been married, I went to bed without Brandon. He works for the library and since it is finals week they are open 24 hours a day. So last night was his turn. He only had to stay as long as he could make it. I originally thought he was going to stay until like 2 or something, but he said he planned to stay the whole night. Okay fine.

I think that it is important for you to know at this time that I am now and forever will be a fraidy cat when it comes to the dark. And when I say fraidy cat, I am talking, every light in the house in on until I go to bed. If there is more than one tv, both are on. If the boogey man is going to get me, it won't be because I couldn't see him, thank you.

Phew, glad that one is out in the open.

As a result, I have had a bear for as long as I can remember sleep in my bed. That of course ended once I was married to Brandon. He knew about the bear of course, because when I went somewhere, the bear went. Call me childish, weird, silly...whatever you will because I have no shame about this matter. At first, Mr. Bear was there for comfort and then as I got older it was because I started to go to cool places and I figured that he should come along too. Mr. Bear has been to Boston, LA, Washington D.C., Florida, Las Vegas, St. Louis, Breckenridge, San Antonio, Graceland, OU/Texas, Jamaica, Cozumel, and Grand Cayman.

The bear is goin' places, okay!

But as I mentioned before, I am married now with my very own real bear to sleep with every night. (Katherine, it is okay if you snickered. I did too.) And as one might imagine, Mr. Bear has been booted from the bed, and has not been on any major trips minus our honeymoon cruise. He didn't sleep in the bed, but I figured if I was to be a world traveler, he should too.

My POINT, to this madness ladies is this. Last night, since Big Bear was gone, Mr. Bear was back in...the bed that is. I mean, HELLO I was alone in my house!

So, I got ready for bed. I fixed the pillows into a semicircle around my body. I, then, worked my way through the house turning off the lights. I started with the lights furthest from my bedroom. As I turned off the lights, I checked every room making sure nothing was abnormally placed. I checked the locks about twenty times, and finally turned off the tv in the living room. I turned off the bathroom light, made sure I had my phone, my reading light and the remote control. I turned off my bedroom light and LEAPED into bed. I read more of Harry Potter 6, watched Sex and the City on TBS. It was then that I saw Mr. Bear on his stool in the corner. I was so excited that I jumped out of bed, grabbed him and put him right next to me before I even turned on a light.

I was so dang brave and it was all because of Mr. Bear. I slept great too...until Brandon called at 2:38 in the morning because he was at the front door. He couldn't stay awake any more and decided to come home. I should have put Mr. Bear back in the corner, but I didn't. It was nice for him to be there if only for one night. Maybe he'll be my sleepover buddy in the future when Brandon has to go on his business trips for work one of these days.

Merry Christmas.

i sleep with currently 4 "friends" (my favorite being a stuffed dog I've had since I was really little) and my baby blanket. Yes, I am 22 years old and still have a baby blanket hiding under a pillow.

Point being, Mr. Bear is totally cool.
