for real?!?

I work very hard at every thing I do. I do not like to half-ass anything. If I feel like I did, then I will beat myself up over it for weeks. Naturally, I am always a work in progress. One of the life-long goals for myself is to be in public service. I used to tell people that I was going to be the President. I don't know if my ambition is still that high, but I would like to work in and for the public.

When you work for the public in the political environment we exist in today, not only are you held accountable for your qualifications to do the job, you are also held accountable for your private life as well. Since the Monica Lewinksy scandal, there seems to be no room for mistake at any point. (I don't agree with this scapegoating tactic used by the Republican party, but that's another post for another day.)

As a result, I try to maintain my professionalism level on a high rate at all times. I suppose in that aspect I am very much a child of the 90s. But here is why. It is so much harder for a kid to be taken seriously in this world right now. I take myself and the things I do very seriously...no matter how serious or piddly they may be. I do not and cannot afford to slip up on doing something right because the one time I do not fulfill my expectations, people older than I am lose all faith.

I hate it because when the tables are turned, they just get to chalk it up to making a mistake. And everyone but most especially me, is just to accept it for what it is. I am expected to move on and make sure I don't make the mistake again.

It's ridiculous because all it does is create more people just like them. And we all know how that has worked out so well.

Merry Christmas

Hi y'all! The name's Samantha. You can call me Sam if you like. I am a lover to a boy I met at Falls Creek in the summer of 2005, that is a student of Jesus, a Sooner born and Sooner bred and when I die I'll be Sooner dead, Democrat by party, blonde to the core, and oldies but goodies kind of girl.
