These are a few of my favorite things...

When I was a little girl, I couldn't wait for Thanksgiving. It meant several things for me during such a special time in my life. It meant that I got to see my family, and that I would wake up in the morning to smell the turkey in the oven and the Macy's Thanksgiving Day parade on tv. But even more importantly than that, it meant that "The Wizard of Oz'' was on later that night!!!!

For those of you who view my tiny little blog on a regular basis that don't already know...I happen to be a MAJOR and I mean MAJOR fan. I think I have like 6-10 sets of dolls, countless books, of course the movie, board games...and the list goes on.
This year when McDonald's had Wizard of Oz dolls in their happy meals, guess who had to get a full set?
And guess who now has her full set?

I'm telling you the level of my commitment is extremely high. This movie has been my favorite since as long as I can remember. I don't ever remember a time of being afraid of the Wicked Witch. I always wanted to watch it at daycare.

Annnnnnnnnd to go back to Thanksgiving for a moment, I thought that the television knew it was my absolute favorite movie and that is why it was played on one of my most favorite days of the year. I am so serious too. I watched it on all of my other favorite times of the year and just knew that this was the one time I didn't have to take my movie with me if we weren't going to be home. I simply could not get enough of the movie. Even now, if the movie is on tv, I stop what I drop what I am doing. I just loooooooooooove this movie. I even bought ruby red slippers to wear on my wedding day. Yes, I'm that kind of weird.

And it seems that I've been following the yellow brick road all of my life. I've had my encounters with wicked witches, and lions and tigers and bears too. In the end, I've found that there really is "no place like home.'' So in honor of my favorite movie and because Emily asked me to do it, I am adding Fridays as a part of my regular posting days. I've just been waiting for the right inspiration and it seems tonight everything just came together.

I hope you have a wonderful evening and now if you'll excuse me, I'm off to see the Wizard...the Wonderful Wizard of OZ who just happens to be on TNT tonight!
