Couple Friends

For Brandon and I, the past few months have been a struggle as far as friends are concerned. I was in Norman for 4 and half years and Brandon was there for 2. We made solid bonds with friends we hope to have for the rest of our lives. We grew up there and became our own persons respectively.

Then we got married.

We went from always having someone to do something with and somewhere to go regularly to...Hometown, Oklahoma, land of low restaurant options. AND suddenly we're expected to hang out with couple friends.
Now I want you to understand me. I wouldn't trade the past 5 months of my life for anything. I love being married to Brandon. There isn't a day that goes by, that I am not thankful for him. But seriously, our friend options are at an all time low. The Lord has blessed us with some couples recently and I know that I am very grateful for their fellowship. But there's only so much time that couples can get together. We're living big people lives and right now it's not all that fun. You have to hope that people don't have anything that comes up so that you can hang out.
My brother-in-law and sister-in-law told us that we'd suddenly be like the plague once we got married. I really didn't want to believe them. But it is so true. We are pretty much limited to people that are married...which is totally and completely lame.
It has suddenly made me realize how grateful I am for the friendship aspect of marriage. No matter how much I know Brandon may hate watching chickflicks or doing girly things, he will still do those things for me. We've definitetly learned that we're going to have to rely on each other.

In the meantime, I'd just like to have some more friends.

Hi y'all! The name's Samantha. You can call me Sam if you like. I am a lover to a boy I met at Falls Creek in the summer of 2005, that is a student of Jesus, a Sooner born and Sooner bred and when I die I'll be Sooner dead, Democrat by party, blonde to the core, and oldies but goodies kind of girl.
